By Nick Jackson, Improvement and Development Practitioner at NCIC and CLIC Associate
It’s been an interesting month for us CLIC Associates, with another lockdown upon us we have used the skills and principles that we help others learn in order to adapt to new situations ourselves. Once again we have had the privilege of recruiting volunteers to help with the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s COVID-19 efforts, and once again the spirit and generosity displayed by people from all walks of life, who just want to help, has been humbling. People have given up their time to attend training on basic patient care in readiness to support our staff in any way they can.
From assisting at the West Cumberland Hospital vaccination hub, where volunteers have helped in the efforts to vaccinate not only staff but also the most vulnerable and elderly, to answering the call of the Medical Records department at Kingmoor Park; our volunteers have once again shown how the NCIC values of Kindness, Respect, Ambition, and Collaboration are displayed by the community we serve as well as our staff.
A big thank you from the CLIC family to all those who have come forward, and we look forward, with you, to a bit of normality in the not so distant future.
