25 May 2021 | 19:30 - 20:30 | Online Webinar via ZOOM

Back in 2018, The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and parkrun UK launched a ground-breaking initiative that aimed to see thousands of patients being 'prescribed' outdoor physical activity rather than medication. The initiative aimed to improve the health and wellbeing of health care staff, patients and carers, reducing the need for lifelong medication.

With parkrun (hopefully) starting up again on 5 June, the NW England Faculty Physical Activity & Lifestyle Promotion (PALP) Group is bringing you this hour-long NW England focused session where you can find out about

  • parkrun and its history
  • the parkrun practice initiative in North England
  • a couple of inspirational (hopefully) case studies on social prescribing
  • the evidence on reach and impact
  • the impact of parkrun/volunteering on health & wellbeing
