North East and North Cumbria’s Primary Care Training Hub is piloting a Preceptorship programme for 3 ARRS Roles: Mental Health Practitioners; First Contact Physiotherapists; and Pharmacy Technicians.


The Hub is seeking expressions of interest from people who are in one of these roles, and would like to become a Preceptee within the programme. 

  • Preceptees will have access to a Preceptor for one hour per month for 12 months. A blended approach will be adopted when meeting with the Preceptors. Meetings can be online and a combination of multi-professional group meetings and one to one as required
  • Preceptees will attend 4 generic development days and 4 profession specific development days designed with their profession in mind
  • Access to a mentor and peer support sessions will form the support and networking elements


If you are interested in being on the Preceptorship programme, please submit an expression of interest to: traininghub.nenc@hee.nhs.uk for the attention of Jonathan Armstrong by 1 September 2022. Please include name, role, how long in role, what area you are based in, and why you would like to be a Preceptee.

The Hub is also seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to become a Preceptor with the programme. The Preceptor will support those new into an ARRS role in General Practice, especially those new to Primary Care, to get a great start in their role.

Please include: name; role; how long in role; what area you are based in; why you would like to be a Preceptor; and what skills and experience you would bring to the role.
