If you are a Band 4 or above in Cumbria and work in a clinical role with patients who have cancer or other long term conditions (such as Heart Failure, Diabetes or COPD), or are involved with palliative care, then this course could be for you!

This free course is open to Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust staff, Morecambe Bay Hospital Trust staff, North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust staff and Hospice staff. This is your chance to find out what CBT is all about and acquire skills relevant to everyday practice! For further information, please refer to the application form (available to download below).

Please note that also on offer is a further 6 day training course: Intermediate CBT Skills for Cancer, Palliative Care and Long Term Conditions. Applications for the 6 day training are still accepted if you have booked a place on this taster day.

This 6 day course is based on the national Marie Curie and MacMillan programme. It teaches practical and applicable CBT skills (intermediate, level 2-3) to staff caring for patients with cancer and advanced disease and their families. It has proved to be highly beneficial to past attendees in enhancing their skills and confidence for applying CBT principles.

Feedback from the 48 practitioners in Cumbria who have completed the course has been very positive, increasing their skills, confidence and improving the outcomes of interventions with complex patients. Managers of these staff have also reported positive outcomes for the service and staff skills.

For further information about the 6 day course, or to apply, please refer to the relevant document (available to download below).
