This session is for Healthcare staff who will be expected to provide routine care and maintenance and/or drug administration and removal of Central Venous Access Devices as part of their role.
This session is a mix of theory and practical. It discusses the different types of devices you may come across and the correct methods/equipment for looking after them and removing them. Demonstrations of flushing techniques, dressing changes, Gripper needle insertion. Chance to practice will be available.
By the end of the session, you will have the underpinning knowledge and skills required to safely undertake the routine care and maintenance of a central venous access device including removal where appropriate by;
