Verification of Expected Death (Cohort 54)
PLEASE NOTE: Could ALL Health Care Assistants ensure they have completed their Care Certificate prior to attending this course.
This is a FREE course aimed at Registered Nurses working within Cumbria
This course aims to develop, support and/or update you with skills and knowledge to verify expected death:
- Understand what constitutes an "expected death"
- Identify and recognise the clinical signs of death
- Perform a relevant clinical examination
- Provide bereaved families with supporting and appropriate information
- Record the fact of death correctly
- Understanding of the legal and professionals framework in relation to the verification of expected death
- Understand the role of the Coroner and the related legal issues
If possible please could you bring with you the form for recording Verification of Expected Death which will normally be found in your organisations policy.
