Verification of Expected Death (Cohort 80)

WHO IS IT FOR?

This training is for all Registered staff working within Cumbria who are required to demonstrate verification of expected death within their role 

ABOUT THE SESSION

This course aims to develop, support and/or update you with skills and knowledge to verify expected death:

• Understand what constitutes an "expected death"
• Identify and recognise the clinical signs of death
• Perform a relevant clinical examination
• Provide bereaved families with supporting and appropriate information
• Record the fact of death correctly
• Understanding of the legal and professionals framework in relation to the verification of expected death
• Understand the role of the Coroner and the related legal issues

PRE-WORK

Please be aware of your employing organisations policy for Verification of Expected Death. If possible please could you bring with you the form for recording Verification of Expected Death which will normally be found in your organisations policy.
