Globally we are faced with an unprecedented rise in obesity, diabetes, cancer, dementia and other lifestyle and diet-related diseases. To address this surge in non-communicable diseases (NCD), we aim to explore innovative strategies for promoting lifestyle changes and healthful eating.
The American College of Lifestyle Medicine defines ‘Lifestyle Medicine’ as the use of a whole food, plant predominant dietary lifestyle, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connection as primary therapeutic modalities for prevention, treatment and reversal of chronic disease.
This workshop will be a virtual cooking session – learn as you cook with me in the comfort of your kitchen, as we look to break some barriers to cooking at home. As soon as a final decision has been made about which recipes we will cook together, we will supply you with the list of dishes and all the ingredients that you’ll need to create them. We will ensure that you will have plenty of time to gather supplies before this event.
Virtually LOC in the Lakes 2021 will take place online via Microsoft Teams, and relevant links will be emailed to registered delegates a few days in advance.
