Virtually LOC in the Lakes 2021: The Launch

Virtually LOC in the Lakes 2021: PAUSE. REFRESH. MOVE FORWARD.

The Launch...

Learning Organisation Collaborative (LOC) Sixth International Festival #LOCintheLakes

Calling all leaders, managers, and health and wellbeing advocates…

Over the last 12 months, COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on every aspect of our lives. We have faced some immense challenges at work, but with the vaccine rollout now happening at pace, we can look forward with optimism to a time when we might see the return of some ‘normality’.

We want to recognise the amazing care, compassion and sheer dedication our health and care and volunteer staff have always, and continue to show. But we also recognise that caring for others means it is not always easy to care for ourselves.

"When we care for staff they can fulfil their calling of providing outstanding professional care for patients”

Michael West & Jeremy Dawson (2011)

Register now and join us at this launch event to hear from our fantastic speakers, and to gain some practical tools and techniques not only to enhance your own wellbeing, but to also revitalise your team.

Keynote speakers:

  • Paul Chudleigh │ Wellbeing: The Scientific Case for Organisational Change - There is an increasing body of evidence from neuroscience, business psychology and health psychology that suggests the pursuit of wellbeing is far more important than a ‘nice-to-do’ option. Wellbeing, performance and engagement are deeply interconnected, and we ignore those relationships to our peril. In this presentation, Paul will describe some of the research that can point us in the right direction, and how we can go about building the better organisations of tomorrow
  • Charlie Cannon │ Resilient Leadership - An interactive and engaging session that will support you and your teams to withstand pressure, and respond positively to adversity whilst maintaining your wellbeing

Workshop choices include*:

  • Professor Rachel Pilling, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 15 seconds 30 minutes: Creating Joy in Work
  • Dr Mandi Sherlock-Storey & Richard Hay, NHS North East and Yorkshire Leadership Academy (NEYLA) – Resilience at Work: Leadership Tools
  • Dr Louise Harrold & Dr Brenda Connolly, North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) – “Staff Wellbeing is everybody’s business”: Reflections on the past year and hopes for the future
  • Julia Wood, Academic Health Science Network North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) – Joy in Work: The IHI Approach
  • Dr Olivia Donnelly & Dr Seema Srivastava, North Bristol NHS Trust – StartWell>EndWell: A practical framework for fostering team connection, psychological safety, and effectiveness

Let’s care for ourselves so we can care for others – let’s create happier, healthier workplaces.
