CLIC, our learning and improvement collaborative, is a shared "umbrella" initiative which exists to develop a positive transformation in health and social care across North Cumbria by leading and embedding a culture of co-production for continuous learning, continuous improvement, and living within our means – with our people and for our people.
We have adapted learning from Jönköping, the North East Transformation System, Virginia Mason Medical Centre, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the NHS Leadership Academy, and NHS Improving Quality, and pooled knowledge from all our members to devise a joint and common way to talk, think, learn and practice leadership and continuous improvement.
CLIC's first three key priorities relate to:
- Developing the right skills to provide the best care
- Building our improvement knowhow and engaging people in leading improvements
- Building collective leadership across the system, growing compassionate leaders who role model behaviours and create effective teams
CLIC brings together everyone working in health and social care in North Cumbria, including people who use services, but key partners include:
- North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)
- North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust
- Cumbria County Council, in particular Health and Care Services and Children's Services
- Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust
