Roles and Responsibilities in the Administration of Insulin (Cohort 9)

FOR CPFT STAFF ONLY 

Training for Health Care Assistants and Assistant Practitioners who have administration of insulin as part of their job role in Cumbria and for competent Health Care Assistants and Assistant Practitioners who need an annual refresher 

This workshop will help you to develop knowledge and understanding of the administration of insulin through:

  • Exploring policy and engaging with a competency framework
  • Determining the role of the community nurse supervisor

During this workshop, we will look at:

  • Blood glucose and monitoring
  • Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • Different insulins and pens
  • Understand development of competence in s/c injection technique and administration of insulin
  • Why errors occur in practice

Mentors are required to attend for the last hour of the workshop.  Further details will be sent once your booking is confirmed
